St. Patrick’s Day is always a reason to celebrate, especially if it’s your wedding day. We spent time with two couples who now think St. Patrick’s Day is lucky even if you aren’t Irish.
You can embrace the St. Patrick’s Day theme and have your entire event swimming in green or just add green highlights and touches here and there. While green is the color of choice for St. Patrick’s day, you have other options for Irish touches. You might play Irish music during your reception, have horse shoes in the decor, toast with Irish Whiskey or have the groomsmen in kilts.
Meghan & Buddy had their reception at Vulcan Park. The bridesmaids wore a beautiful shade of green and there were green accents in the linens and chair ties provided by Decor To Adore. Norton’s Florist did the floral arrangements and Jim Little was the photographer. There was even green punch in the fountain.
Food and beverage is a great way to reflect your Irish theme. You can have an Irish inspired menu including reuben appetizers or shepherds pie. You might also consider a signature cocktails that are made with Bailey’s Irish Cream. Green beer is always popular on St Patrick’s Day. Aside from splashes of green in the wedding cake, you might also consider a green and white dessert table. Keepsakes can be green as well.
Carly & Russell had fun drink koozies for their guests. Their wedding and reception was at The Sonnet House. The gorgeous hot pink and orange floral arrangements were provided by Hothouse Design Studio.
You don’t have to
have a green inspired wedding even if you marry on St. Patrick’s Day. Just be happy and have fun. If you’re interested in having Happy Catering provide information for your upcoming event, please contact us.
